The Wethersfield Charter Revision Commission held an organizational meeting on July 7, 2003, at 7:30 p.m. In the Town Hall Conference Room.
Present: Commissioners Camilliere, Healy, Herald McHugh, Munroe, Roberts and Standish. Also present: Attorney Richard Roberts and Richard LeBorious, Intern.
The meeting was called to order by Attorney Roberts. Attorney Roberts administered the oath of office to all Commissioners.
Upon motions duly made and seconded, the following officers were unanimously elected: Geraldine Munroe, Chairperson; Christopher Healy, Vice Chairperson; Dorcas McHugh, Secretary.
Chairperson Munroe presided over the rest of the meeting.
The Commission adopted Roberts Rules, latest revision, as its procedural rules.
Commission scheduled its next meeting for July 29, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. and tentatively set the first and third Tuesdays of each month as regular meeting dates.
Richard LeBorious discussed his role as an intern for the Commission. He is a political science student and as part of his curriculum, he has voluntered to do research and provide support to this Commission. He was looking forward to this opportunity. He will coordinate his efforts with the Town Manager.
Commissioners requested minutes of the Council Workshop held in early June relative to Charter Revision. Also requested were excerpts of today's Council minutes relative to the Commission, final reports and procedural information of previous Charter Commissions, recently revised charters for other Council-Manager towns, and departmental and administration recommendations channeled through our Town Manager.
