Solomon Welles House Committee
Minutes of meeting on October 14, 2003

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p..m. In attendance were Kathy Bagley, Debbie BaIzo, Pat Kupper, Cheryl Gardow, Nancy Smith, Gerilyn Drake and Mary Mahar.

  1. Minutes of June 10, 2003 meeting were accepted as written.
  2. Letters and announcements.
    1. The SWH committee approved the 2004 meeting dates.
  3. Pending Business
    1. Budget Report - Kathy Bagley reported that the SWH budget is on target.
  4. Committee Reports
    1. Interior Design and Decoration
      • Pat will research options for protecting furniture from ultraviolet rays and report to SWH committee in January.
    2. House and Grounds
      • Kathy Bagley will continue to discuss constructing a pergola with the new town planner.
      • Paint will be touched up in the Fall.
      • A minor roof leak has been patched. It will be repaired.
    3. Landscaping
      • The planting bed on the slope will be ripped out this Fall or next Spring. Kathy will take suggestions about grass or plantings for this area.
  5. New Business
    1. Caretaker Report
      • Paint has been touched up.
      • Back screened porch has been fixed.
      • Brick steps outside of kitchen need to be repointed.
    2. Capital Improvements
      • Will submit for parking lot pavement
      • Will submit to have house exterior painted (last painted about nine years ago).
    3. Fees
      • Alcoholics Anonymous has conditional waiver. Committee voted to continue waiver for another year.

The meeting adjourned at 7:48 p.m.
