The meeting was called to order at 7:15 p.m. by Debra Hammer.
The minutes from June 6, 2003 were reviewed and accepted.
Youth Advisory Board:
We have a need for more board members.
Department of Youth Services Update:
Nancy Stilwell noted the retirement of Peg Rooney after 25 years of service.
"Parenting with Love and Limits," a Savannah Family Institute Training was attended by Nancy Stilwell and Pat Meskill. Nancy and Pat will offer the workshop at some point during the years for parents and teens who are having difficulty.
The Underage Drinking Task Force grant will continue through June. Alcohol-free events were sponsored over the summer. Curriculum will be implemented at the high school and middle school.
Future Projects:
Crop Walk for Hunger - Oct. 26th
May 1st is "Teen Day." Veronica Esposito from the West Hartford library sent information. We could tie it into other teen events around that time. Nancy Stilwell will look into Underage Drinking Task Force sponsoring a "Teen Day".
"Yes I will" - Simple wills prepared for couples. Barbara Ruhe will donate the money she makes from the wills. Debra Hammer will contact her and create a pamphlet.

Addendum:
Nancy Stilwell contacted Tom Vencuss at the Methodist Church. He is happy to have us as a co-sponsor of the Crop Walk. The date has been changed to October 26. Nancy will contact Steve Cook to see if he can get the middle school students involved.
