Town of Wethersfield Committee on Culture and the Arts
Minutes of the November 8, 2004 Meeting
Members Present: Joan Biagioni Robin Bourassa, Mary-Beth Dobmeier, Rita Doyle, Karen Gove, Sandra Mulcahy, and Frances Patti.
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. In the absence of Pat Viani, Joan chaired the meeting.
A motion was made by Joan to accept the minutes of October 12, 2004. Karen had two corrections. The date of the cabaret is April 22 not April 20 and the custodial fee is approximately $183. Frances Patti seconded the motion to accept the minutes with corrections.
Treasurer's Report:
- A deposit of $100 was made to Shaw Productions They represent the Glamour Girls. Donations from summer concerts for the Arts Scholarship amounted to $543.02; Escrow Account $ 627.70 and General Fund $1,400.00.
New Business:
- Fran has agreed to contact Tony Allen to discuss a date for the July concert series. She will report back at the next meeting. His fee is $500.
- Rita stated that Alan Piacenta performed at a cabaret and he did an excellent job. She will contact him for the possibility of performing at a July concert and will report back at the next meeting.
- Joan volunteered to contact the 94th Army Band for a possible concert in August at the high school.
- Mary-Beth suggested that we consider classical music for one of the concerts.
Old Business:
- A sign-up sheet was passed around for appetizers at the December 15th meeting at Sandy's house. For those who were not at the meeting, please call Sandy at 563-5158 to discuss what you can bring.
The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Sandy's House, 454 Coppermill Road.
