Chairman Coombs called the Meeting to order at 5:05 P.M. in the Public Works Conference Room. Members present were Paul Camarco, Joseph Coombs, David Edwards, Carmen Pace, Stuart Temple and Tim Tuell. Staff Liaison Tony Martino, Mike Turner, Bonnie Therrien and Architect Peter Wells were also present. Committee Member Raymond Grasso was absent.
Chairman Coombs advised that Peter Wells had renderings of the outside of the building for us to review. If we find one that we approve of all the renderings will be forwarded to Town Council with our recommendation. The Council will then make their selection and then make a referral to Planning and Zoning and the Design Review Committee for comments. Peter then went over his renderings. The Committee reviewed all the renderings and liked Selection 2 the best, but recommended some revisions. Motion by Paul Camarco seconded by Carmen Pace to recommend Scheme 2 with variations with revised drawings (roofline changes) coming back to members for review before going to Council for consideration. All members voted in favor. Peter will make the necessary changes and get revised drawings back to us for review at our next regularly scheduled Committee Meeting. At that point we might be able to make a recommendation to Town Council. We will have copies of the renderings forwarded to Council in advance of their next meeting so they will have time to digest the information and make their selection prior to Peter's presentation at the Council Meeting. Peter advised that he had a roofing consultant do test samples in the roof. There were good and bad areas. The entire roof will have to be replaced.
