Treasurer's Report:
- Sandy reported that our current General Balance is $846.75. Expenditures: $3.25 to Rita for envelopes; $550 to Shaw Productions for the Glamour Girls.
- A question was raised regarding tax I.D. numbers to be submitted by various groups. Sandy will check with the Finance Dept. regarding the procedure. She will report back at the next meeting.
Scholarship Committee:
- Heidi spoke with Karl Kumme at the High School. He recommended two students this year: one for music and one for visual arts. He submitted the names of Natalie Pittman and Mary-Beth Mulready.
- The Committee usually gives out one scholarship in the amount of $500. We agreed to give two $250 scholarships. We might be able to increase the amount if we received donations at the April 22nd cabaret. The scholarship funds are raised each year through donations made at the summer concert series.
- A letter has also been sent to UNICO requesting a donation which could go towards the scholarships.
New Business:
- Pat received a call from Laura Gallo, Community Liaison at the Wethersfield Health Care Center on Jordan Lane. They will donate $2,400 to cover our summer concert series. Pat passed around a letter she received to that effect. Pat explained to Laura that they could provide us with a banner to be displayed on the Showmobile during the concerts. Their name will appear on all our publicity.
- Pat also received literature from Entrainment Unlimited which was passed around to the Committee for our perusal.
- Robin has been seeking donations from various community businesses. We might hear something from Webster Bank.
- Jeanne contacted Kate Mullen from Peoples Bank. She will report back at the next meeting.
Old Business:
- Karen faxed information to Scott Olsen (Glamour Girls). She also contacted Doug Maine, Wethersfield Life, regarding publicity. Pal also spoke with Doug. His address is: 106 South Street, West Hartford, 06110; phone 953-0444 Ext. 103; email: Dmaine@CTLife.net.
- Pat will provide ice buckets for the April 22nd cabaret. Posters were passed around for members to distribute throughout town.
- Karen will not be here for the Moxie performance so Mary-Beth will follow through.
- Pat spoke to Tony Allen and he is all set to perform on July 9 for a fee of $500. He will sing Italian and standard songs. Fran is in charge of this concert.
- Joan called Pat and said that the 94th Army Band is all set for July 5.
- Vincent Roccaro Sings Bobby Darin is all set for July 26.
The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m. The next meeting will take place on April 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Conference Room next to the Town Manager's Office.
Respectfully submitted,
Rita T. Doyle
