TOWN OF WETHERSFIELD COMMITTEE ON CULTURE AND THE ARTS
MINUTES OF DECEMBER 12, 2005

Members present: Mary-Beth Dobmeier, Rita Doyle, Sandy Mulcahy, Frances Patti, Ruth Ann Schumaker and Patricia Viani

Pat extended her thanks to Jeanne for chairing the November meeting.

The meeting was called to order at 8:40 p.m. A motion was made to accept the minutes of November 14, 2005. Seconded by Fran.

Treasurer's Report:

No new activity reported.

New Business:

• Pat passed around the Tourism Commission agenda and brochure.
• Pat received a memo from Kathy Bagley regarding Newington's Children's Theater Production of "Oz" which will be held at Wethersfield High School on April 1, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets will be sold for $5.00 for all ages. Everyone agreed that our committee will co-sponsor the production. We will help in promoting the event. The Women's Firefighter Auxiliary may also be interested in co-sponsoring the event.
• Discussion ensued regarding sponsoring a cabaret featuring Vincent Roccaro sometime in April. Ruth Ann will contact the Community Center for availability of the Center on a Saturday. The time will be determined at a later date.

Old Business:

• Mary-Beth had inquired about the amount of money collected at the Tony Allen concert. The following monies were collected:

  94th Army Band	$ 73.50
  Moxie	163.00
  Tony Allen	112.50
  Vincent Roccaaro	91.00

The meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m. The next meeting will be held on Monday, January 9, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center. Room S-2.
