Ginny called the meeting to order at 5:25 p.m.
Motion: Accept minutes as edited. Unanimously approved.
Motion: Adopt the following mission statement, "The mission of the Clean Energy Committee is to assist the Town in meeting its commitment to the 20% by 2010 Clean Energy Campaign, encourage the use of renewable energy by our citizens, and promote the wise use of energy resources by the Town and Board of Education. Unanimously approved.
Report: Will and Ginny reported on the informational meeting for the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund's Community Innovations Grants Program.
Motion: Recommend the Town enter into an agreement with the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund to participate in the Community Innovations Grant Program and direct staff to take the necessary steps. Unanimously approved.
Discussion: Discussed the need to learn about current energy usage and possible priorities and strategies for recruiting clean energy sign-ups. Individuals agreed to request copies of other Towns' clean energy plans, clarify aspects of the program with representatives of the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund, and invite Town and Board of Education facility managers to review current energy usage.
Discussion: Next meeting to be scheduled November 1, 8, or 9, and staff will follow up. Following meeting tentatively scheduled for November 30.
