TOWN OF WETHERSFIELD COMMITTEE ON CULTURE AND THE ARTS
MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 13, 2006
Members present: Mary-Beth Dobmeier, Rita Doyle, Sandra Mulcahy, Frances Patti, Ruth Ann Schumaker and Patricia Viani.
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. A motion was made to accept the minutes of January 9, 2006 with one correction in paragraph 3 under New Business, it should have read pasta dinner. Seconded by Fran.
Treasurer's Report:
- Sandy reported no new activity. There is a balance of $5,974.10 in the Escrow Account; $1,000 in the General Fund and $794.00 in the Scholarship Fund.
New Business:
- Pat received information and a CD from the Sliders . Rita will write them a letter.
- Pat spoke to Kathy Bagley, Parks and Recreation Director, who said she would have the flyers for "Oz" ready by the weekend. Rita and Pat will be selling tickets on Sunday, February 19 at the UNICO Macaroni Dinner. Pat said we have 100 tickets to sell. She distributed ticket numbers 1-6 to Frances, 7-16 to Mary-Beth and 17-27 to Sandy.
Old Business:
- The cabaret featuring Vincent Roccaro is all set for May 20, 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Community Center. The small ensemble will perform for $1,500. Ruth Ann said the custodial fees will be around $360. The paper work for the liquor permit is signed. The set up time is between 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
- Ruth Ann will have posters made up to be distributed around town. An entrance fee of $5.00 will be collected at the door.
- In the absence of Jeanne, Frances reported that Jeanne contacted Karl Kumme at the High School and he will have the name of a recipient for our scholarship in a couple of weeks.
The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m. The next meeting will be held on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center, Room S-2.
