CULTURE AND ARTS COMMITTEE
MINUTES OF MARCH 13, 2006

Members present: Jeanne Ciotto, Mary-Beth Dobmeier, Rita Doyle, Liz Kirkpatrick, Sandy Mulcahy, Frances Patti, Ruth Ann Schumaker and Patricia Viani.

The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. A motion was made to accept the minutes of February 13, 2006. Seconded by Mary-Beth.

Treasurer's Report:

• No new activity (Balance of $5,974.10 in the Escrow Account, $1,000 in the General Fund and $794.00 in the Scholarship Fund).
• Sandy will get a check for $1,500 for Vincent Roccaro for his performance in May.

New Business:

• Pat received a promotional package and CD from "Jus...Us", an R & B Show Band. Rita will write them a letter explaining that we are not having a summer concert series this year, but will keep their material on file for possible future concerts.
• Pat received the Wethersfield Tourism Commission's minutes and passed them around.

Publicity:

• Ruth Ann will have the posters made up for the May 20th cabaret featuring Vincent Roccaro's performance. The entrance fee will be $5.00 for adults, children under 12 are free. Pat will contact Jocelyn for a changing room. Wethersfield Life will be notified.

Old Business:

• Jeanne has been in contact with Karl Kumme at the High School and we should have a recipient's name for our scholarship sometime in April.
• Liz, Jeanne and Fran will help sell tickets at the door for the April 1st production of "Oz" at the High School. About 20 tickets were sold by Pat and Rita at the UNICO macaroni dinner on February 19.

The meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m. The next meeting will be held on April 10, 2006 at the Community Center, Room S-2.
