Present: Pat Viani, Jean Ciotto, Ruthann Schumaker, Fran Patti and Mary-Beth Dobmeier
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m.
Fran Patti made a motion to accept the March minutes as written. Jean Ciotto seconded the motion.
Pat reported on the budget in a phone conference with Sandy. The following information was reported on the budget
There is no money in the general fund. $1000 was taken from the general fund to pay Vin Roccaro for the cabaret. The check was made out to his company name, The Chicklets.
The general escrow fund balance is $6261.41 of which 5467.41 is available for events.
The scholarship fund has a balance of $794.
Pat reported that Kathy Bagley called Sandy and told her town may be doing away with escrow accounts. Sandy will discuss this further with Kathy and will report at the next meeting.
We will be giving one scholarship. Jean has contacted Karl Kumme at the high school and is awaiting word from him on potential recipients.
Pat received a call from Matt Catalano at Wethersfield Health Care. They are interested in sponsoring our programs. Pat told him that we are not doing summer concerts this year and have already planned a Spring cabaret. She asked if they would be interested in working with us next year and he said they would be. No dollar amount was mentioned.
Mary-Beth suggested that we might want to consider doing a Fall cabaret if we get a decent turn out for the Spring show. This could be a potential opportunity for Wethersfield Health Care to sponsor an event.
Ruthann shared the posters that she had printed up for the Spring cabaret. The committee was pleased to see that it was worded "donation" rather than "admission". All took posters and will distribute them to businesses around town. Ruthann repoted that she was able to get the posters for only $4.50.
Pat thanked Liz, Fran and Jean for the help in selling tickets at the children's theatre show on 4/1.
Pat sent Vin Roccaro directions to the community center. The show will run from 7:30 to 9:30. Ruthann and Mary-Beth will not be able to attend.
The next meeting will be held on May 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the community center.
