TOWN OF WETHERSFIELD COMMITTEE ON CULTURE AND THE ARTS
MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 13, 2006

Members present: Jeanne Ciotto, Mary-Beth Dobmeier, Rita Doyle, Liz Kirkpatrick and Frances Patti.

The meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. Mary-Beth was thanked for chairing the meeting in Pat's absence.

Mary-Beth asked if any corrections and/or deletions should be made to the October 9, 2006 minutes. Pat had sent an agenda to Mary-Beth and Rita and noted a deletion should be made on page 2, second paragraph...the name "John" before Keane Foundation. Rita noted that on page 1, first paragraph, the group "Spectacles" was spelled "Specticals," which was wrong. A motion was made to accept the October 9, 2006 minutes with amendments.

Treasurer's Report:

• Sandy reported to Mary-Beth that there was no new activity.

New Business:

• Regarding a date for entertainment at the end of the day's tour of the Silas Robbins House, Pat spoke with John from the Spectacles and learned that Fridays in March and October 7, 2007 are available at this time.
• Mary-Beth suggested that maybe a comedy hour would be something different to consider for possible future entertainment at the Community Center.
• Jeanne said that Mike Miano will be singing at Billy's party on November 28th and whoever is there to hear him can report back to the committee as to whether we should consider him for entertainment.

Old Business:

• Pat spoke to Kathy Bagley and she said she was delighted to hear that we would be willing to help with the children's theater group this year. She will contact Pat when she has more information.
• Sandy told Rita that she had not heard from Ben Altman even though she made a couple of calls.

Since there were only five members in attendance at this meeting and Liz will not be able to attend the December meeting and there is a possibility that Mary-Beth will not be there either, we did not pass around a sign-up sheet for the Pot Luck Dinner at Sandy's house.

The meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The December 11th meeting at Sandy's house is canceled due to the lack of a quorum. The next meeting will be Monday, January 8, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center. Please try to attend this important meeting.
