Rick Baldoni called meeting to order at 5:05 p.m. at the Physical Service Department.
Chairman Baldoni noted that Carollyne Weidler has resigned from the committee.
Motion by Nancy Kiely, seconded by Carol Jones to approve the minutes as submitted. All voted in favor.
Keith Saunders provided the committee with two graphs printed from ISO New England which demonstrated the 2008 NE Load/Generation curve (where power is generated from depending on demand), and a sample printout of Load vs. forecasted load which denotes how actual consumption is matched by power generation.
The committee reviewed the revised proposal from CCAT which reflected a changed scope of services. Committee discussed their opinion that the price was still higher than they expected, and needed clarification that final report was a town wide energy plan which included discussions on renewable resources and street lighting. Motion by Carol Jones, seconded by Mary Dobruck to approve the proposal scope and forward to the Town manager for negotiations and award.
Keith Saunders reported the streetlight commit has received a CD with all town streetlight data and is looking for CLP lighting guidelines/standards in design levels. They are also researching DPUC ruling on costs of removal. They felt Windham and West Hartford have developed standards to reduce number of lights.
Chairman Baldoni noted Tom Kennedy's committee has requested CNEF vehicle wish list for upcoming year. They have also identified potential speakers to address the committee on energy & finance, and waste to hydrogen.
Nancy Kiely reported on upcoming Green Summit 2 Energy fair scheduled for Nov. 8th. Over 50 vendors, 3 speakers, 5 workshops, a smart car raffle are part of the event.
Chairman Baldoni would like to work with town staff to place the mission and goals on the webpage, and will be drafting a roadmap on how to achieve those goals for discussion by the committee. This will be the Energy Plan to the world flowchart and will be placed on the Nov 6th agenda for discussion.
Chairman Baldoni also discussed two new products Konarke (flexible PV panels), and Sarnofil (roofing PV).
