MINUTES

  1. Call To Order - Interim Chairman Howard Greenblatt called the meeting to order at 12:02 p.m.
  2. Attendance and Quorum (6 members required)

    Members in attendance: Howard Greenblatt, Adam Jeamel, Ken Rizzio, Chris Lyons, Joe Cornelio, Doug Sacks, Joan Hughes, Ralph Keleher and Chris Monroe.

    Members absent: Frank Frago, Betty Rosania, Paul Montinieri, Brian Silver and Bill Knapp.

    Also in attendance: Bonnie Therrien - Town Manager, Phil Knecht - Planning and Zoning Commission Liaison, Peter Gillespie - Director of Planning and Economic Development and Denise Bradley - Assistant Planner.

  3. Old Business
    1. Status Church Street/SDH Streetscape Project - Peter Gillespie reported that the Concept Phase Plans have been submitted to Kevin Campbell, of the Connecticut Department of Transportation by Frederick Campbell of DeCarlo & Doll. Mr. Gillespie noted that the project should go out to bid this year.
    2. Marketing and PR Assistance - Keiler - Peter Gillespie reported that Keiler has submitted a preliminary budget for next year. A meeting will be held on February 13th to discuss the preliminary draft of the Public Relations and Marketing Plan.
    3. Website Update Status - Mr. Gillespie noted that the disks containing the website revisions have been delivered to the Data Services Department.
    4. Review of 2001 Economic Development Strategic Plan - Peter Gillespie reported that both the Marketing and Communications and the Financial Strategies sub-committees met to review the plan. He noted that a marked up copy of the plan had been provided to the EDIC. Howard Greenblatt noted that each objective had been reviewed point-by-point and then highlighted the priorities of the plan. Mr. Gillespie noted that the revised version will be put into a final format and discussed the possibility of creating a brochure.
