In attendance: Ginny Judson, Cindy Jacobs, and Judy Parker. Also in attendance: Christopher Shepard. Absent: Paul Lombardo.
Ginny called the meeting to order at 4:40 p.m.
- Minutes: Tabled.
- Public comments: None.
- Energy Conservation Strategies: Cindy described in greater detail the Wethersfield High School PTSA's Fall light bulb sale fundraiser. Discussed the possibility of the committee sponsoring or hosting an additional sale at another time of year. Agreed to focus on supporting the existing event and having a presence to encourage sign-ups. Cindy will confirm that's OK with the organizers.
Christopher is researching the Town's electric bills to try to compile basic information on the number of accounts and kWh each month to help track usage and conservation.
- Connecticut Clean Energy Options Program: Sign-ups have increased to 121.5.
- Renewable Energy Earned: Tabled.
- Renewable Energy Purchased: The Town budget for 2007-2008 includes $10,000. Christopher reported the Town Manager has not yet made a decision regarding joining a purchasing consortium, hiring a consultant, or remaining with CL&P's TSO.
- Community Innovations Grants Program: Discussed revising the solicitation letter so that applications would be due at the end of July, with a goal of selecting the first grant at the August meeting.
- Publicity: June 4 is the deadline for the next Wethersfield Life distributed in late June.
- Announcements: Ginny announced the appointment of a new member, Joe Hickey.
- New Business: Judy will draft a letter to Rae Ann Palmer regarding the need for compact fluorescent light bulb recycling or collection.
