Advance tickets for the Friends of the Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature Center's annual spring dance now are available for $25 per person. The dance will be held on Saturday, March 27 from 7 to 11:30 p.m. at the Pitkin Community Center.
This year's dance, "Touch of Class," will feature big band classics through the best dance hits of the 1980s performed live by the popular Boston-based band Tuxedo Junction. The Friends will provide light refreshments, prizes, non-alcoholic beverages, and drink set-ups for those who bring alcoholic beverages.
Proceeds will benefit the Friends' Cornwall Scholarship Fund and the Nature Center. The Friends help provide supplies, equipment, veterinary care, and program support to the Nature Center, which is partially funded by the Town of Wethersfield. They also provide financial assistance for attending the Nature Center's summer camp and scholarships to graduating high school seniors pursuing studies in the natural, environmental, or ecological sciences.
Visit the Nature Center or mail payment with a self-addressed envelope to the Friends of the Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature Center, 156 Prospect Street, Wethersfield, CT 06109. Tickets also can be purchased at the door for $30. Contact the Nature Center for more information or if you would like to set aside a table for your group.
