Salute to Business

On Thursday evening December 9, 2010 the Wethersfield Economic Development and Improvement Commission (EDIC) held its 21st Annual Salute to Business and Holiday Social at the Wethersfield Country Club. After a series of opening remarks by Howard Greenblatt, EDIC Chairman, those in attendance were welcomed with remarks from State Senators Paul Doyle and John Fonfara and State Representatives Russ Morin and Tony Guerrera. Mayor Donna Hemmann and Town Manager Jeff Bridges provided holiday greetings and congratulations to the business community.

Awards were then given to individuals and businesses in a number of categories: Welcome awards to new businesses; longevity awards to long standing businesses; special recognition to community leaders; the Wethersfield Preservation Trust Annual Award; and the Village Improvement Association Business Award for Outstanding Development and Enhancement of Commercial Property. In addition, the Wethersfield Shops Local Committee held a drawing and awarded $1,000 in Shops Local Gift Certificates as part of its Holiday Shopping Spree.
