2/2/2015 - Filing Period for Elderly Tax Credit Ends May 15

The application filing period for the Elderly Homeowner's Tax Credit Program began on February 2, 2015 and will end on May 15, 2015.

Residents who reached the age of 65 prior to December 31, 2014, own and reside in the home, and who meet the income requirements may obtain the necessary forms from the Assessor's office during regular business hours. Proof of income must be provided. Acceptable proofs are a 2014 federal income tax return in addition to the applicant's social security SSA-1099 statement. If the applicant no longer files income tax, any and all income statements for 2014 must be provided. Income statements include, but are not limited to pensions, annuities, bank interest, W-2s, etc.

Qualifying income is as follows:

State Program:
Married Couple maximum is $42,200
Single Applicant maximum is $34,600
Town Program:
Married Couples and Single Applicant maximum is $40,000
