Department Description

GIS Services offers a wide range of Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and data exporting services. We offer standard map print-outs and custom mapping in all sizes from 8½"x11" up to 48"x36". The digital data of more than 25 map layers is also available in many common export formats and can be clipped to the project size needed.

GIS Services also creates mapping for Town Departments and Divisions. GIS maps have been used in the Town Calendar and the Plan of Conservation and Development. Several Departments and Divisions, including Engineering, Police, Parks and Recreation, the Town Manager and several others, have used the paper and digital mapping and data for internal use, meetings and legal proceedings.

GIS Services is not a formal division of Data Services, but it is a unique function of Data Services. Data Services is officially a division of the Finance Department.
