The Wethersfield Police Department, a nationally accredited law enforcement agency, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Police Officer.
Successful candidates must be 21 years of age at time of appointment, a U.S. citizen, possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED and a valid motor vehicle operator's license. Candidates must not have been convicted of any felony, any class A or class B misdemeanor, domestic violence convictions or have committed any act which would constitute perjury or false statement. Candidates must successfully complete a thorough background investigation, polygraph examination, psychological interview and comprehensive medical examination including drug screening. Candidates must be or will be non-smokers during the course of employment with the Town of Wethersfield.
The written examination is scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2008. Applicants will receive a confirmation e-mail to include test location and time.

The Town of Wethersfield offers an attractive salary and fringe benefits package. As of January 1, 2009 starting salary is $ 54,934.74 annually and $ 64,249.79 after one year.
