Council Given Status Report on MDC Clean Water Project

At a special Town Council meeting on Janaury 5, representatives of the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) delivered a status report on the Clean Water Project. The documents they distributed at the meeting are available for download below.

The first document contains two maps. One shows the entire MDC service area, and has project numbers in the various Towns. The numbers correspond to items listed in the Project Work Schedule, the second document. Some of these projects have advanced into their next phases and some are ready for construction as soon as the weather permits. The second map shows the Franklin Avenue Separation Area divided up into 14 different sub sects. The MDC is in the process of reviewing their master schedule, and will in a short period of time have a project sequencing for Franklin Avenue Area sub sects, as well as the remaining five separation areas in Hartford. When that schedule has been finalized, they will share it with Wethersfield and the other towns.

The MDC reports that the smoke testing program is over in the Folly Brook Area for now, whle more testing may be recommended from the Phase II report that is due to be submitted in the coming months. They will share that information with the town when it has been submitted and reviewed.
