The Wethersfield Police Department will be hosting a "Tip-A-Cop" fundraiser to benefit Special Olympics of Connecticut. On Friday, May 16, 2008 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Red Lobster Restaurant, personnel from WPD will be assisting "waiting" on tables for donations to Special Olympics CT. There will also be Special Olympics merchandise on sale during this event.
Also in support of Special Olympics, the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run is scheduled for Thursday, June 5, 2008. The Wethersfield portion of this run begins at approximately 4 p.m. on the Silas Deane Highway at the Rocky Hill town line.
