Construction is now underway on a new one-story multi-tenant office building on Wolcott Hill Road near the intersection of Jordan Lane. The buildings will consist of a 7,470 s.f. office and an 800 s.f. free-standing storage building at the rear of the site.
Construction of a 6,428 s.f. addition to the existing building at the corner of Wells Road and the Silas Deane Highway has begun. The one story brick addition would also include the renovation of the exterior façade of the existing building resulting in consistent exterior treatment to the entire site. The proposed tenant's are Sherwin Williams Paint and Mozzicato Bakery.
Construction is well underway for the addition to the front of the residence at 271 Main Street which will accommodate the relocation of the Main Street Creamery to this site. The proposed 690 s.f. addition will provide room for several indoor tables as well as waiting space for customers, a brick patio will create additional outdoor seating for customers.

Renovations have started at the former Arrow Tool Building at the corner of Arrow Road and Russell Road. The first meeting was held on Thursday January 13 to establish the policies and procedures for the operations of this committee and a joint meeting was held with the PZC to discuss coordination of the 2 authorities. Several of the members attended a workshop held on January 21 at CCSU sponsored by the CT Chapter of the APA on the subject of Design Review. On February 2, Bruce Bockstael was elected Chairman of the Committee. Updated
The Committee received 11 proposals from firms interested in assisting the Town with the development of the streetscape plan for the Highway, On February 1 a subcommittee reviewed the proposals and short listed 6 firms for an interview. The interviews are scheduled for March 2. We have invited RockyHill to assist us in the selection process. The Committee is developing a plan to improve the center island North Gate way at the Hartford Line which they hope to plant in the Spring. On Jan 10 a meeting was held with CLP officials to discuss the potential use of ornamental light poles along the Highway and we are waiting for some preliminary cost estimates. Updated

On Saturday night, April 30 the Chamber of Commerce will be holding a fundraising/anniversary event to support their scholarship program. The location is yet to be determined as they are trying to hold the evnt in one of our vacant storefronts in order to promote the availability of the space. NEW

The Commission continues to work with their consultant R and R to develop a series of Tourism Strategies for the Town. A public workshop on this effort is planned for Mid February.
