"The Citizen’s Police Academy is an outstanding way for us to educate members of our community of the services that we provide. It also builds bridges that allow us to obtain our mission to make Wethersfield a better place to live, raise children and conduct business." |
Students typically will meet once per week (Wednesday) at the Wethersfield Police Department, 250 Silas Deane Highway, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. for ten weeks. Students will receive classroom and hands-on instruction from veteran Wethersfield police officers who work or supervise each particular section. There is no charge to students and the Police Department will provide all classroom materials.
Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in an optional ride-along with a Wethersfield Police Officer.
Participants must be 21 years of age or older, live and/ or work within the Town of Wethersfield and must not have a felony arrest record.
Applications will be made available when the next Citizens Academy is announced.
If you have any questions regarding the Wethersfield Police Department's Citizen's Police Academy, please contact Sgt. Don Crabtree at (860) 721-2717 or e-mail, donald.crabtree@wethersfieldct.com
