Volunteer Appreciation Event

On Monday, September 8th, 2003, Mayor Kitch Breen Czernicki and Town Manager Bonnie Therrien joined Social and Youth Services staff as we recognized and thanked many individuals who assist with services for Wethersfield seniors. Representatives from several volunteer groups were present to receive certificates and enjoy a light brunch:

The Senior Citizen Advisory Committee identifies needs of seniors, makes recommendations to the Town Council to meet these needs and disseminates information that affects the senior population.

SeniorNet of Wethersfield is a computer-learning program that provides computer training for seniors.

Other individuals also help with programs sponsored by the Senior Center, help with the Food and Clothing Bank operated by Social and Youth Services, provide health insurance information through the CHOICES program and help serve meals through the CRT congregate meal program at the Pitkin Community Center.
