The Parks and Recreation Department employs seasonal part-time employees year round to supervise a variety of recreational opportunities.
- Interns — Program specific internships for high school seniors and college students each semester and summer, e.g. early childhood teaching assistant, natural resource management, exhibit design, education program development, animal care, gardener, etc.
- Educators (Part Time) — Early childhood animal and science classes Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Elementary school day camps during school vacations. And/or programs for community groups, scouts, etc. Lead lessons, help design programs, ensure participant safety, and work with volunteers. Minimum Associate's degree or equivalent experience with teaching, environmental topics, and diverse populations.
- Custodian (Part Time) — General cleaning of classrooms, offices, bathrooms, exhibit rooms, and floors as well as building security during public events. Prior experience required.
