The Parks and Recreation Department employs seasonal part-time employees year round to supervise a variety of recreational opportunities.

  • General

    • The Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for the summer season including but not limited to Recreation Leaders, Lifeguards, Pool Attendants, Therapeutic Recreation Leaders, Pre-School Leaders and Nature Center Counselors.

  • Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature Center

    • Interns - Program specific internships for high school seniors and college students each semester and summer, e.g. early childhood teaching assistant, natural resource management, exhibit design, education program development, animal care, gardener, etc.
    • Instructional Assistants - Help Educators provide small group education activities, lead large group recreation activities, and ensure participant safety for elementary school day camps during school vacations and summer. Minimum 16 years old, experience with children, and knowledge of environmental topics.
    • Educators - Lead small group education activities, lead large group recreation activities, help design lessons, ensure participant safety, and work with volunteers for elementary school day camps during school vacations and summer. Minimum Associate's degree or equivalent experience with teaching, environmental topics, and diverse populations.
    • Assistant Program Manager - Lead small group education activities, help staff develop education and recreation activities, help supervise staff and volunteers, ensure participant safety, and otherwise help coordinate elementary school day camps during school vacations and summer. Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with teaching, environmental topics, and diverse populations.
