Volunteers supplement the Parks and Recreation Department and allow the department to bring creativity and vitality to its programs and offerings. Consider donating your time and joining the ranks of the many dedicated people already volunteering.
Nature Center Volunteers
The Nature Center welcomes students ages 13+ and adults as volunteers to help with teaching, animal and plant care, trail maintenance, publicity, event planning, exhibit design, office tasks, etc. Submit a volunteer application form [90 KB PDF* file] or register online for one of the orientation sessions offered each season. Therapeutic Opportunities
Volunteer with after school, Special Olympics training and fundraising events. Enhance the skills and experiences of our children and/or teens while gaining valuable experiences and lasting memories. Volunteers must be 15 years of age or older. Contact Natalie Morrison at (860) 721-2952.

The Wethersfield Parks & Recreation Department has additional volunteer opportunities including Special Events, Cleanup of Parks, Environment and Nature Projects, Aquatics and many, many more. By volunteering, individuals have the benefit of learning new skills, meeting new friends, building resumes and giving back to the community. Groups are also welcomed.
