The FTC's identity theft web site is a one-stop national resource to learn about the crime of identity theft. It provides detailed information to help you deter, detect and defend against identity theft. Consumers can learn how to avoid identity theft - and learn what to do if their identity is stolen. Businesses can learn how to help their customers deal with identity theft, as well as how to prevent problems in the first place.
Family Watchdog - Find Nearby Sex Offenders
A unique feature of the Family Watchdog web site is that you may enter your address and see a map of registered sex offenders in your area. Colored boxes on the map indicate what type of crime they were convicted of; clicking on the box will display the offender's name, address, a photograph and criminal convictions.
Local Crime Statistics from the Department of Justice
The U.S. Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Statistics web site allows users to obtain crime statistics on a local level. Wethersfield data is available from as far back as 1985, and is based on Uniform Crime Reports submitted to the FBI.
